02.-03.10.2014, Hamburg - Dubai - Ho Chi Minh No i lecimy.

1.10.14 Lubeck Arrived in Lubeck Germany after an eventful drive from Attendorn as in previous post. 2.10.14 Lubeck Slept the night in our Hotel and got up at a reasonable hour, caught the local bus into the Altstadt (old town) and spent the day in there. Had breakfast at one of the bakeries and the walked around. Lubeck is a town with heaps of history and historic buildings, also it is surrounded by a canal and is a port town. Took some lovely ...

harbour. The fun was about to commence, we boarded the bus and were told in no
uncertain manner to get off as tickets were a day old. We stressed that
yesterday the bus had broken down and we were ...

... cruise for the english language dependants which also had a German translation. Hamburg is Germany's largest sea port, even though its 120km from the sea. It also claims to be one of the largest harbours in the world, so it was very interesting viewing the harbour from water level as we kept dodging bigger boats. Even less desire to swim there than Sydney Harbour! We had a slight detour due to the low tide making it dangerous to follow the stated route. Cranes, functional and ...

Yes, it's me again but I am ghost blogging (is there such a term?) from lovely Galiano Island for Jim, who is almost two weeks into another European cycle trip. He's back to Deutschland with pal Werner, who was born there and knows his flammkuchen from his zwiebelkuchen. It will be an opera in two parts: they are currently on the Elbe Cycle Route or Elberadweg, biking south from Hamburg to Dresden on the Elbe Cycle Route, then from Wurtsburg to ...
