One morning we decided we wouldn't go to any beaches. So we started our day visiting a well known cafe called Koukouvayia (owl) cafe. They had the best views of Chania. ... picked up and the sea has gotten very rough so we didn't stay long. Good thing we went to Santorini when we did. Tonight we went to a family restaurant recommended by the hotel's front desk clerk. And we've all sworn off meat. We ordered pork, lamb, and calamari along with the usual salad, potatoes/fries, and horta (greens - something similar to collards or turnip greens). The dishes were all huge and as ...

Tour of Crete in the morning. Visited the ruins of a palace, very crowded, hot and uncomfortable. 36c with no air conditioning on a packed bus. Very pleased to be back in town, having pizza and beer for lunch. Off to Rhodes tomorrow, hopefully a little ...
