Mike and Mo Paraglide

... Danish friend land he's a tall fellow and he's got his feet up coming in just before he lands sets down with a little trot, perfect landing. My turn to come in I get my self out of the harnass legs ready and I remember oh yeah legs up like Stefan! Second error this time my fault. When I lifted my legs up it caused my big butt to go back into the harnass and I couldn't get back out before I landed and landed onto my butt. This caused the parachute to go over and this was ...

Up up up and more up

... at Deurali before the final 500m up to MBC.

This was probably our favourite part of the walk as the forest ran out and we were suddenly walking alongside a huge river carving its way through the mountains. The air had turned cold as we started our ascent up to MBC. The walk was a bit of a killer as we both started to feel the affects of altitude but made it to the lodge for a warm dinner. The affects of altitude also meant that we both had a resting heart ...

<br ...

Himalayas... Onwards & Upwards

... a mere 2080 metres on our first day. The Nepalese have a tendancy for going down before going up again and we were knackered as we took refuge in the Nameste Lodge Teahouse and its 7x7 wooden room/cell. Helen thought it was very humble and quaint, Lee didn't, was craving pancakes and his feet stuck out the end of the bed!

Brrrrr it was freezing upon waking the following morning and we were ...

Back to Pokhara and Random Thoughts

... so we laughed about that and went to see Chandra. He had no rooms available that night but still insisted we go drink “raksi” with him!! I really do not like it that much and I think now he realises that so doesn’t push me to drink it! The following day he told us that he would cook dinner for us that night! I had another one of those surreal moments as I sat in his kitchen watching him prepare a vegetable curry and a chicken curry to go with the Daal Bhat he had ...

The Himalayas

... We've treated ourselves a bit in this place - hot running water from the taps, a BATH (which we haven't used...only to wash our dirty scuds) and an AMAZING view. Our first morning, we woke up to bright blue skys, green mountains/hills and just peeking over the top of them were white, rocky himalayan mountains! Fabulous. Pokhara itself it better than Kathmandu - there's a big lake and the people are friendly. Lots ...

Row, row, row your boat

Got up really early this moring and wandered around at sunrise, very quiet and clam at this time. Met 2 americal girls also looking for a new hotel, (Maia and Kylie) and i told them about the place i was moving to, they were keen to stay there so we headed to Mikes Restaurant for breakfast, was so yum, had nepalise omelette and it was filled with a cross between salsa and curry, so good and spicy milk tea to ...

Made it to Kala Patthar and Everest Base Camp :-)

... and so organized and so... crowded!
We found our camp and rested in the dining tent. It was nothing like I had imagined. Tables, chairs, plastic flowers as decoration, food on the table... Once everyone arrived we got lunch. For the first time we don't choose what we want to eat on a menu. We all eat the same thing cooked by the camp cook and it was DELICIOUS! The best food we had since we started our trek. And that's not because it was snowing outside and that we were ...
