    Mojave Desert.... Quite the experience

    Now, we have had everything.. as low as 6 degrees at Lake Tahoe in the mountains, up to 30 degrees on the coast and 45 degrees when we drove through the Mojave desert on our way to Las Vegas.
    Sometimes it is really hard to adjust to such temperature differences within the same day or even within a few hours.

    ... after spending the day sunbathing and shopping we decided to drive down to lake mead & look into a boat trip, we had a look around, see pics & video of fish nick, bet you'd love to catch one of them lol We managed to book a trip for tomorrow and then booked in here for the night, it's really nice, got some good goodies and a good view ...

    We met at 5:45 am for our trip back to the airport. We went for breakfast and had our vouchers. The one for dinner had been for $24 so we assumed we had the same amount and the breakfast was only $11 so we ordered fruit and juice.     ... in the Route 66 train stop in an actual train car! Then we were on the road again and saw some strange weather phenomenon like a random rain storm about 1/4 mile wide in the middle of the desert and a dust devil which looked like a mini tornado whirling up a deserted road. We eventually made it to Southern California and lots of windy roads to Legoland. Joe tortured the boys by telling them they were made of Legos. Max was not amused!! Legoland. ...

    ... would normally have been difficult, but as we only saw a car every 30 minutes it wasn't too much of an issue! The drive was stunning though, with untouched scenery as far as the eye could see, and then passing some old western style ranches. As we continued we saw a small opening with a handful of caravans in. Hoping that this was not our chosen destination, we rolled past the entrance sign, it was ours.
