... Its very picturesque but hard to take photos of. The castle is impressive and sits on top of the hill overlooking the town and all its surrounds. Then after leaving the Castle we drove on through some lovely country, forested ares, rolling hills, lakes and farmland. Stopping near Duderstadt for the night. Out to find a meal. ... we sat up top for the trip as the views are much better and the photography easier with no roof. Just have to watch out for the overhanging trees. After the tour we walked back to our hotel car park to pick up our car and driving out of the city towards Hannover. ... again Rupert coped with well, the worst section was a bit of Dual Carriageway around 2 miles long up hill, we managed to maintain a steady 22mph on this, but with it being May the 1st the roads weren't busy!

We think May 1st (May day) must be a National Holiday in Germany (no waiting for the first Monday like us Brits) as pretty much every town we passed through was deserted ...
