The girls hung out with Lydia, Christina and baby Pia eating apple pie and coffee. Opa (Hans) and Oma Betschel (our Opa's brother and wife) visited which was just lovely to meet them. Opa Hans reminded me so much of our Opa- he adored Annalise and was chatting to her right away. 10 minutes of him being there we pulls out his wallet and gave her a bit ...

Anyway, we settled in, showered and had a much needed big sleep.
Now we are all awake and going to have breakfast and explore!!! Enjoy the few pics!

Looked around the town, had expensive, not-so-good coffee on the touristy main square (staff was a bit snooty too). When I asked whether they had wifi for the guests, she looked at me like I had just escaped from a lunatic asylum. No wifi anywhere in this whole Harz region, not that I could find anyway.

Lots of rain kind of limited the options ...
