    ... are out by the thousands, eating, drinking, smoking and connecting with their neighbors. Such a vital time at night. But with our long day we decided to just go out from 7:30 - 10:30pm then head back to our hotel and into bed. Chris' pedometer marked we walked 11 kilometers today. And now my feet feel like it. So happy to be here. Special thanks to Cliff and Sandy who gave a condensed version of Rome....as we are going to Florence ...

    Just in case you ever wondered, transfers in Frankfurt suck. We had about an hour so we did have enough time but none to spare. We landed and pulled up to our gate somewhere in terminal A. Our next departure was from gates in B. To get from one to the other you seem to have two choices, wait with a couple hundred other people for this large elevator or head around the corner to an inconspicuously marked door and head down about six flights ...

    So onto the second leg of our trip – Philly to Frankfurt. In line to board the flight, I find some other Penn Staters (I see the guy's PSU shirt) and I ask them if they are also taking the long road to Dublin. Yup!     ... the U.S. government is urging all U.S. citizens to restrict unnessecary travel to Thailand since it is under martial law right now. ( We made sure our mother didnt know that before we left...sorry mom). Cody was nice enough to give me 2 seats to lie down on and he attempted to sleep sitting up. He said he fell into the aisle at one point. But that's one of the hazards of sleeping sitting up. What a good brother. ...
