We are, apparently, out of season. This small town is host to lots of watersports enthusiasts as the season turns to summer, but right now they are still in preparation mode. We've seen restaurants being renovated, deckchairs being unpacked, patios being laid, a boat being launched. Some buildings look as tho they are still being built. We think we might prefer it like this! It's the most expensive place we've stayed, for both the room, and evening meals, even in low season. We ...

Now the Magic Bus has been travelling at 90km/h on the cruise control, the speed limit for all vehicles on this road. ...

... put paid to our hopes of kayaking the great Masurian lakes and the Krutynia route. Another time…

Instead we had a day and a half enjoying the wonders of Mragowo. We’ve agreed that the stand out feature was not the spectacular lakes, the sunbathing on the wooden decking, or even the fact that Mike’s beloved Chopin Vodka was served in the local bars – Nope, the highlight was cowboys! ...

... a bit from the main road...maybe I can fish in the lake tonight, the Thai way which is a lure with line rolled and tied around a plastic water bottle. Throw the lure as far as you can across the surface of the lake, wait a few seconds upon contact with water to let the lure sink, tipping the line with your hand softly while rolling it back up your water bottle. Chances are you will roll in a fat ...
