... pincho that Paul had and a (believe it or not) anchovy/cod concoction on bread that I had. I’ve really been venturing out on the fish thing this trip. I even had cod for lunch!!

Tomorrow we leave Bilbao for a hotel a bit in from the coast into the Picos de Europa, a beautiful, mountainous area. We should be in by late afternoon. Look for photos of the coast and the mountains next.

We drove from Madrid, got a bit lost trying to find Lurdea. We thought it is a name of a village but it is not it is just the name of the Hotel/Casa Rural.

The place is amazing. Located in the hills above Bermeo, with magnificent view of the ocean. It is clean (like really clean) and has the air of a relaxing boutique hotel.

I have, being Jewish, never actually been to a Catholic mass before, so the fact that I go to do it in Spain, in a 13th century Gothic cathedral, while speaking Spanish was amazing. Then, we hiked (and I really do mean hiked!) to this ancient fortress overlooking the entire city and ocean. We stopped there for lunch and sat watching the waves on the beach while dining on a delightful meal ...

... My allergies are so bad. It was a bad idea not to bring allergy meds and just hope that I'd be lucky and not have them here. Mary's phone rang today and she had no idea it was hers because it had some silly Spanish song as a ring tone. I got a Guggenheim coaster today. I figured, I already needed some, so it's something I can use, and it's a souvenir. I think I'll start a collection.
