6 weeks left here in benidorm before a flying visit back home to see everyone then im off to Thailand, Oz and Fiji for a few months travelling.
Currently loving the 'dorm, its probably the most random and bizzare place to rep and although its a bit quiet at the moment having amazing nights out with the rest of the fantastic team we have here, still time to come and see me!!!
Well would you believe it? I've been working for the last 2 days. A friend of Dave's who I met a couple of weeks ago needed a Brickie to build a couple of pillars. So, I dusted off the old trowel. It's been a long time but you never lose it.
Amanda is back tonight. I'm picking her up at Alicante Airport at about 11.30pm. Lucy and me have really missed her and we are both looking forward to seeing her...Ahhh.
I got up nice and early and was outside the Bank at 8.30 when they opened. I explained the situation and they asked me for the fax receipt which I didn't have. After a lot of huffing and puffing by the cashier she went and got out my paper file. Low and behold there was the receipt that they neglected to give to me the last time. It was duly resent and this time I made sure I had both receipts...Memo to self...Make sure you ...

So there I am playing with the remote control of my new toy when everything goes off! What's up? I check out the fuse box but everything is OK. Looking out of the window I can see the man from Iberadola driving off...I've been cut off again..AGHHH!
Phoned the electric company who tell me they have no record of the payment from 2 weeks ago so I need to go to the Bank and get them to re-send it but of course the Bank has just closed ...
We have been having a really lazy time for the past 10 days or so except for the cleaning and unpacking of course. Apart from a couple of bike rides into San Miguel one of the neighboring towns we haven't been far.
The weather has remained ...
... tapas, if you wanted to sit on the patio. We indulged, and had a couple beers to go with it. There were bombas, cutlets, cordon bleu, lomo, prosciutto, chicken wings, poppers, sausage, all on bread in, tapas form. We must have gone up 5 times each. We were stuffed, and were going to go back to the hotel to watch Italy vs. Brazil. When we got the bill, it was only 18 euro. Apparently, Juliana did not understand the waitress, and we were supposed to keep track of what we ate. Oh well, we ...
Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain and Canary Islands paul-jules... ter mon anniversaire la veille...).
Alicante, Spain ling-enOur stay in Alicante has come to an end. It certainly wasn´t all beaches and cream, the post parcel saga took its toll on our emotions for 2 of the 4 weeks. But we´d like to think we achieved a few things. #1 We have finally gotten a tan. #2 We have improved our walking fitness (in preparation for Peru). #3 We have recovered from the first 9 weeks on the road - ready for the 2nd leg in Europe. #4 We have learnt some basic Spanish and can communicate a little. However, we have also ...
Alicante, Spain and Canary Islands jill-camSoaring seaside cliffs scattered with monastery's, castles hover above the sparkling Mediterranean sea and high rise apartments scatter the sandy beaches. With chiseled mountains in the background, the city is located in a a bay with a cosmopolitan harbor. Tropical palms line the avenues. From the marble tiled sea front you can look up towards the mountains when historic castles and monasteries are still in us ...
