... Muslim regional capital ruled by Prince Abd Al-Rahman. He destroyed a church to build this incredible mosque (Mezquita) . I am not sure I have ever been in a mosque. It was huge. There are 850 red and white columns (see the pictures)

... opened at the midway stop, you could immediately smell the olive trees. At first the smell caught me off guard and I thought it was terrible. Once I realized it was olives thought, it smelled delicious. Inside the restaurant they sold a variety of olives oil and even had samples to try. My first week in Córdoba was eventful and uneventful at the same time. After the long train ride from Barcelona, we walked to meet our families just outside the station. Cordoba was the capital during the Moorish times. Most of the structure from the time is still preserved in pristine condition. Reached here by train from Seville. Journey took almost 2 hours, very comfortable, high speed and there was even a 230V charging point near the seat. Renfe trains was good.
