... it only takes one hour! And again, the products are so cheap! Hoorah!

After that, we wondered around Shibuya a little bit. There is this really nice, Bookstore/weird shop called the Village Vanguard. They sell the weirdest things and the weirdest books. It's not R rated or anything... They just have things like toilet-shaped curry bowls, neon-green beanies with ears, and vintage totes, and lip-shaped ...

... escalator rolled open and there was a loud clatter as their trolley and baggage tumbled down several steps, much to the horror of the other tourists standing further down. Pressure on, I lined up the trolley and hoped for the best.

Navigating the train and subway network has - so far - not posed many difficulties. Most lines are well sign-posted and some posters even add hilarity to normal subway journeys (see pictures below). ...

... we'd really need.
On our last night we met three Aussies in our hostel! They wanted us to come out to the city with them, but we had to be up at 5am to get to the airport so we had to decline. If only they had been there a night or two earlier!

And that, my friends, was our trip to Japan! I'll try and get a blog done weekly or fortnightly (depending on if there is much to write home about). Now to get on to the next week; Helsinki and oulu!

... Translation so I opted for an early and quick dinner, Japanese style. I found a place called Kamukura serving mainly noodle soup amongst other things, and you place your order on a ticket machine outside then hand the ticket to the waiter when you're in the restaurant. It took a couple of attempts to get in there cos a guy started talking to me on first attempt and wanted to come for dinner with me so I had to shake him off first ...

Bottoms up! After two more drinks I regained my ability of speech, and got chatting to a couple of people around me. (Mainly Andy and his female flatmate) I think the bachelors could smell my lowly status and maintained a respectable distance.
