In my previous story, I wrote that I won't be able to do all the things that I want to do. That doesn't take away the fact that there are a couple of activities that I believe I HAVE to do when I am in Japan. I can now scratch two of those from my list, since they took place in the last two weekends.

... upsetting that the tour company continued with a tour to see a mountain that they knew would not be visible without notifying passengers first. It was very upsetting when we were not able to get the bullet train tickets that we had already paid for and then had to pay out of pocket to get back home.

On the plus side, we got to ride multiple parts of the extensive Tokyo transportation system and saw beautiful Japanese houses and gardens in the countryside.

... and Hakodate to American ships. A nice small temple with a fairly large cemetery behind it. There is also an old fashioned waterpump, lots of beautiful, large wooden buckets and lots of brushes. Wonder what those are used for..... ... and they did the same for us and then I (Chris) had women coming up and wanting to have a photo taken with me! I think it is the hair colouring! LOL. Anyway, it was like China all over again, where I had lots of photos taken with absolute strangers. I often wonder what they tell their friends. However, it's fun and they are always so happy when you agree to have a photo with them.
