... up. May and Amy bounce down the stairs excited to see us. Amy and Lily are fast buddies and become inseparable quickly. Our train ride in they play iphone games, draw, and generally hang together.

Off at Omotosando, we stroll up the main shopping street past the designer shops that require no translation -- Hugo Boss, Chanel, Coach, etc., then to Kiddieland -- the jam packed cute center and eventually over to Takeshita Dori. First two stores score ...

Surprises come in many forms and last Sunday was a good example of this. One of my colleagues (who is also my friend) has a friend (who is also my colleague, get it?) who wanted to show me around in Omiya. Actually there should be a dash above the 'O' but I can't find it on my keyboard. Omiya is a small but quite posh village just north of Tokyo. Having missed out on an organised tour to the Ashikaga Flower Park , it is a self guided option for us today..
Should be easy enough!

Catch the train from Hamamatsucho north to Omiya station a journey of approx. 40 minutes, then transfer to another line to get to Oyama.. another 30 minutes .. and finally a small local train through to Tomita station.. an approx. 30 minutes further.
