... learned from past tours and applied them to each subsequent tour and also made changes along the way. I had hoped to do more point to point riding but carrying a rack with a panier full of gear as well as a backpack just made it too tough on the climbs. A hub and spoke system where you base yourself in one location is much easier. Having a rail pass and a rinko bag is ideal for this type of touring.

On a final note, I've been playing with the idea of leading a ...

... a road side stand selling red bean pastries, a classic Asian dessert. It was a pancake-like batter with a red bean paste filling. The price was an amazing 100 yen for three. If this were Tokyo, they would operate out of a boutique in Ginza and charge you 100 yen for one. Today is the day!! We woke up super early and headed to the train station to make our way to Saitama. Turns out we were in a place called Urawa. It was quite a mission to get there before UFC started at 8.30 but somehow we managed it. We quickly dropped our bags at the hotel (which looked extremely plush) and caught a taxi to Saitama Super Arena!! We had to line up to get our tickets as we purchased them outside of Australia. Unfortunately they only had two staff on so it ...

... it down with icy cold beer. The cutest and most genius idea was that each setting had access to a hot water tap and matcha powder - you could make your own green tea! We had one with roasted rice mixed in and it was so tasty. Then we jumped on board a water bus to tour through Tokyo Bay. It was perfect weather so we were allowed to stand up on top (beers in hand) and the views were postcard perfect. It was such a beautiful ...
