    ... the halfway point of the trip and here I am now, wide awake, unable to fall back asleep, my butt quite numb.     I travelled to Matsumoto with an old friend from university. On the first day of the trip, we visited Matsumoto Castle and walked around the streets of Matsumoto, tasting some local foods including basashi, sanzokuyaki and sansei, local sake.
