On a happier note, Joanna and I noted that Brussels is a mix of modern and old. It is both ugly and beautiful. A very interesting mesh! It is also the capital of the European Union…did anyone know that?!

I’ve noticed in the short time I’ve been travelling that old/classic buildings have so much more attention to detail and are built to last. They are truly beautiful and intricate. Buildings and furniture these days are ...

... gothic architecture we've ever seen. Imposing cathedrals and grand old buildings ringed the square. On account of another recommendation we found the oldest Waffle House in Belgium. This recipe has apparently been passed through generations, and was really the most scrumptious thing our bellies have delighted in. I'm sure that I saw Bink's eyes glaze over when her mountain of waffle, chocolate sauce and ice cream was handed over the ...

... orange golden autumn trees as far as the eye could see. All
over the ground were the flaming coloured leaves and it looked like something
out of a movie. I picked up some leaves and crunched them in my hand and
continued to follow the path along the river. Soon enough it opened up into a
much larger area and I gasped in delight as I saw nuts lying everywhere on the
ground. I couldn’t work out what sort of nut they were so storing a few in my
    pocket I decided ...
