... experience to check off the list!

Needless to say, Sunday we we're absolutely exhausted. After getting into bed at 8am and having to check out at 11am, we spent the better part of our day Café hopping and checking out all the popular spots in the downtown area. Seeing as our bus wasn't until 10:30pm a lot of coffee was needed that day. All in all, after a rough start, this weekend turned out to be one of the best i've ever had!

Once done, we needed some fresh air. (Thankfully, there were no coffee shops around). I had planned on us heading over to the Rijksmuseum, but our feet hurt and we needed a bit of a diversion after the Anne Frank visit, we decided to take a canal cruise first. The boats are hop on hop off --an entire trip is about an hour. We got off at the stop a short walk to the museum, but by the time we got ...

As part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam (just like Fort Benoorden) Resort Beemster is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The cultural heritage here is regarded as unique and irreplaceable. I have never seen a Resort quite like this one - and just some of the facilities available include an authentic Finnish kelo sauna, Himalayan salt cave sauna, harmonising ...

... but I thought it was really interesting. The museum told the story of his life, making me appreciate and understand his work so much more than I otherwise would have. It was definitely one of the more interesting art galleries that I've been to. Our last stop was the Anne Frank House. We'd been here twice before but left because of the massive queues. This time, arriving late in the evening, we got straight in. It was a moving and thought-provoking experience. It was ...

... Spain game we decided to head back to catch the last metro home (we are married and sensible now remember) but couldn’t escape the almighty roars from every street corner as Holland was on the road to a 5-1 victory!

As we approach our final stop Paulie, now very bleary, drops another classic saying “can you smell that weed?” to which I reply, “baby, that’s US!”
