... they don't really have room for a suburban fringe, which makes sense given how many live in such a small area. The immediate impression is water, water, everywhere. Small canals into medium canals into bigger canals, there were also several spots where livestock appeared to be stranded on islands, but they were looking plump and happy so can't have been bothered with the isolation.

The first stop was for windmills, which mushroomed in the 17th century. In ...

    Muffin laced with paranoia

A travel blog entry by rebecca.taylor on Feb 21, 2014

... We then start trying to get back to the hostel. I decide I hate the way I feel but it is only intensifying... we feel like we have been walking for hours and that we are going to die by being hit by a car or a bicycle. Mad paranoia is upon us all now... someone keeps screaming out that we are lost... It is like a flash of time passing.. one second we are there and the next we are somewhere else.

    But eventually we ...
