      ... bingo in a bar where the bartenders were dressed as Santa's helpers, the blackfaced Zwarte Piet. It's traditional for them to throw candy at you. I'd have preferred it to be thrown in the direction of my mouth but, oh well.... Maybe they knew for Christmas I all I wanted was fewer calories.       ... so we had to leave Brora at "7.15-7.30am" but we all know in Peter Etheridge time that actually means 7.00am prompt. The journey to Inverness was good, and since we were ahead of schedule we used that time wisely trying to find a parking space. There literally wasn't any!       ... some time out for a rest at 5 pm (hate to name drop but this time tomorrow we will be getting ready for our dinner at the Eiffel Tower!!) Beautiful blue skies to enjoy our canal tour which finished at 7 pm. A recce of the Railway Station to work out platform, directions and timings for our 8.15 am departure to Paris tomorrow.       ... itinerary and offered to accompany us as baggage - almost tempted by the offer.

      On arrival in Amsterdam, simple transfer to a train direct to Amsterdam Central station - 5 Euro each as against minimum of 45 Euro by taxi. Only drawback was wheeling the luggage through peak hour pedestrians and bicycles to the hotel about 10 minutes from the station. But it worked !

      The Convent Hotel is a converted convent (apparently) which is showing its age ...
