... around the beautiful old town with small pedestrian only cobblestone streets and small canals filled with running water. The tour ended with a suggestion to go up Schlossberg(Castle Hill). It is a very steep 35 minute hike followed by a climb up a modern lookout tower(267 steps and 15 more to the crow's nest). The view from the tower was breathtaking and a little frightening. ...

It was an hour and a quarter
train ride to Basel and we arrived safely and went to the ticket office to
validate our pass. We were never tempted
do avoid this and get an extra ride – others could have easily been
tempted. It was about a 750 metres stroll
to our apartment, thank goodness for Google Maps and locals. Very clean ...
