    ... people at the museum were not as nice. Almost rude at times. But the museum was nice with some great paintings...Rubens, Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, JL David and Delaquoix. Sandy enjoyed it a great deal. And it is Mother's Day you know! And I enjoyed the museum as well.

    We made our way back to the train station...just 10 minutes this time. I'm learning! Caught a cab, and the cab driver may have said two words our entire journey. I am afraid ...

    ... given moment they might suddenly announce that there is no entry at their door any more, and that you have to join the back of the line at one of the other doors. Grrr. But once we entered, all our troubles were soon forgotten. The atmosphere in the Schottenhamel tent was fantastic.     ... and then walked to the Kreuzeck where we took a gondola down to the bottom.

    We caught the bus to the Olympic Ski Stadium and then walked 25 minutes to the Partnach Gorge. Absolutely breathtaking with water rushing down the gorge. We walked 7-8 miles today. Went out to supper at Hofbraustuberl- delicious and followed up with gelato.

    Today was a grim look into the past of Germany.

    I went to Dachau Concentration Camp that was one of the main camps during the Holocaust.

    I honestly didn't think it would take me as long as it did to read about the Holocaust and about this particular camp and the people who were there.

    But it did. It took me 8 and 1/2 hours to read about it, and I did skip some bits.

    ... to get more info from the tourist place and found a lady that spoke English. She recommended taking a quick train to Klais and then take a taxi to Elmau to catch the trail there for a more gradual slope. This sounded more appealing since I was lugging my whole family up the mountain. Although they were being cooperative and excited to join, I didn't want to push my luck with going up the steep side from the city. ...
