Very nice receptionists and a good location. The room is what you might expect from the hotel of this standard.

... the Carabinieri (ie: that police station), which we took to be a good sign. We took several photos of the area, and our walk to the Metro train station - just in case we got lost and needed to work out how to to get back. WE still had no map at this stage and that made decision making a bit hard. I mean, I knew that there was a City centre square and a Duomo and the Last Supper, and its a fashion capital - but really I just wanted to go here so I could wear my ...

... about where on the lake was a good place to stay.

We all boarded a ferry. There are a few choices you can make at this stage, the ferries go in different loops, some up and down the lake, some in a big circle, some trips go for hours, some just take you past large Villa's and some people just want a ferry to take them to the other side of the lake. He staggered towards us as we were getting ready to leave and asked us where we were from and I answered. Then, with only the fact that we were from Australia, he ...

... nice. The nicest array of shampoo, etc I've ever had (including Versace), and a coffee machine. No instructions on how to use it, but we'll give it a go tomorrow, and if we can't figure it out, someone will come and show us. Haven't seen one like it before, but it is one of the "pod" types.

After unpacking a few bits, we went for a wander, and ended up in the Piazza del Duomo, where the huge Duomo Cathedral ...

We woke up and walked down the street to have a pastry and coffee before leaving for the airport. We are looking forward to the Rick Steve's tour portion of the vacation. Flew to Rome and transferred to a flight to Milan. We made a quick visit to the Duomo (inside and top) and the nearby 1870's shopping galleria. We arrived during Milan's "Fashion Week". We saw red carpets at ...
