... this period of year there are mostly aged people resting there, however I noticed there a lot of clubs near the beaches, so I consider that in summer this town is full of students. The beaches are sandy and what is important all those beaches are public. And one more thing - there are NO PRIVATE BEACHES in Lloret de Mar!
Lloret de Mar, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands eleoshka... at Roses looked much better with a lot more seafood included.
After lunch we set off up to the castle, inside its walls are numerous little houses which are still inhabited, although the satellite dishes were rather incongruous! After all this exercise it was time for a cocktail followed by a spot of shopping before eventually heading back to L’Escala.
cerca!
desp escribo desde la muralla!
... Just to give a very brief background, Catalunya is a region that is in northern Spain (Barcelona is very much a part of it) and southern France. There is political tension here as to whether Catalunya should be considered a part of Spain, and those sentiments are displayed throughout the city through tags and such. But there are others who think that Spain is beautiful as an integrated, diverse country, whole and complete in its long history. (I ...

... town is on a hill with windy, narrow streets. It is filled with small cafes. I go to one that has tables just below a monument that is lit. Menu is in Catalan. Some similarity to Spanish but different enough that I only catch a few words. In some places, I have found that on a buildings, they will have both Spanish and Catalan. I think my waiter gives up on me. It is 30 minutes before someone takes my order (not my waiter). No apologies.

Finally we had some friends. We united this group of boys with the group of girls we attempted to meet and made a super party with alcohol, shesha, sunset. However, the party was short lived because the girls were ugly.

As a special birthday treat me and Olly decided to buy 3 litres of sangria (less than a euro), 3 litres of wine (less than a euro), a bottle of vodka (less than 4 euro), and a bottle of random spirits (less than 4 euro). We then hit the beach for the first time. Cooking our food amongst the rocks we met a wandering Dutch guy who spoke perfectly English. He sat with us for a cigerette. We then got truly hammered ...

Cycling toward the Pyrenees with flip flops and an orange in my front basket which is quite loosely attatched to my failing 25 year old bike I couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. What a ridiculous task. Fortunately, the road we were on turned out to cut through the mountains and it was a ...
... say much about the hike except it was long, hot and steep. And my pack was heavy. We were supposed to be going for three days over the mountains to Monsterrat monastery 100 kms away, which is very far when you are out of training. So I shuffled along and my hiking partners walked steadily and soon enough I lost sight of them. Not a problem, I followed the G-5 path (we had followed it all day) and we met up every hour or so. The problem came when the path entered a town. Every ...
