... the scope of the ancient fort, as derelict old stone arches led the way up the hill on the opposite of the river carved valley beneath us, which were clearly remnants of the old structure or township. Reaching the top felt momentous and were greeted with yet another large church...so we headed on toward the castle grounds. Long drives along Dalmatian Coast
... hotel seemed very new with spacious rooms (****** WiFi, unfortunately). We were astonished at the level of service the employees give to their guests. The only sour note was the restaurant for dinner. Not particularly vegetarian friendly. The chef produced a pasta that had salt as its main ingredient. The breakfast was fulsome and filled us for the journey onward.

Ice hockey
we stoped in Pula to say hello to Marco (old business partner of Dide) and it turned out that there was an international hockey tournament taking place in the collesiem (almost 2000 years old) between Croatia and Russia - what a treat.
Finally, made our way down to Metcovic, just in time for one day of sun on the beach, before the rain - forcast for the next couple of days.
More to follow as i need to sign off now as we need to get the car back to Metcovic.

Lakes and the seaside
... water. There were cascades that looked like an octopuses tentacles and others that were a lone stream falling over the edge. The path ways seemed to go on forever and were constantly splitting in two. Seeing the whole place would be a mission. With the rain starting to seep through our jackets and the day nearing the end we caught the bus/train most of the way back. Our legs power walked us the rest of the way back and our eyes were still taken a back at each ...
High speed ferry to this beautiful town
... and steep stairs to the third floor of the building, took off running to the boat. He had no luck. The following morning he tried again by calling the ferry company but they reported no camera had been found. So cursing humankind I resolved to put it behind me and search for a new one when we get to Ljubjlana.
