The old hotel, but with nice updated features. It was in good location in the heart of town. Parking on the street, but not an issue to find a spot.

    All about Laura

Today was all about Mansfield. After a nice breakfast we drove into town. First stop was the cemetery where Laura, Almanzo and Rose were buried. A few years ago, they must have embraced the reality that Iowa is for Iowans, everyone else is driving through. To capture the attention of these drivers, they have remodeled several rest areas along major freeways to create a respite, each a 20-minute museum celebrating the history, heritage, and culture of the state. There's one covering ...

Day 5: La Crosse, WI - Burlington, IA (310 miles)

Unfortunately, today is not the day that I can say, "I did not see snow falling from the sky today." Maybe tomorrow.

Today started off just before the sunrise with a unique experience. I got up early to drive up to Grandad's Bluff and get a great view of La ...

Alright...today's joke comes from special guest contributor Tim:

Why does the Mississippi River flow south from Minnesota?
    Because Iowa sucks
