    ... theme with all of them has been that they all have "onsen" (natural mineral hot springs), which has been a blessing to relax in at end of a hard days walk! Apparently the priorities for the Japanese with regards to their hotels are food and "onsen", both being national obsessions! As a result the hotel rooms have small, "modular" bathrooms, and most washing and bathing is done in the communal baths. The onsen are segregated in to men and women's baths. The process ...

    ... for buffet lunch and after lunch we have about one hour free to walk around the forested area and to visit the wind garden and some of the terrace famous in the Japanese soap opera and movies.     ... few interesting thing there including some rather nice Japanese cups. They were also extremely expensive and way past my budget. Besides, I couldn't carry anymore in my luggage and we are running out of cash. Time to bring out the credit card. I have only used the credit card for the hotels in Kawasaki and Tachikawa as well as for the chopsticks that I bought from Daimaru yesterday.

    ... name is Hiroto and came all the way from Tokyo by train.

    On our way to Biei, where the Blue Pond is, we got surprised by the ocean of flowers on the side of the road. The colours of the flowers are so bright and go in waves over the hill. Of course I take some pictures and I would love to stay here and watch the flowers all day, but there are so many other things we will see today.
