... Japanese tourist are around in masses; quite a spectacle by itself. We actually had to start booking our train journeys and accommodations in advance as we'd encountered too many places fully sold out (and the actual summer holidays haven't even started yet!).
Unfortunately our second day in Furano was a rainy one. Everybody assured us that this is really uncommon, but well, it didn't stop all day. We still tried to venture out but in the end had to retreat to dry indoors.

Besides looking at the flowers, what could we do? The hills at Furano and Mei look okay, countryside, natural view, refreshing if you work and dwell in big cities.
