First day in Rishikesh

OMG, I thought I had seen fireworks in India - I have spent the last 6 yrs coming to India for NYE and it was crazy then, but this is a whole new level. I have never been so scared in my life. I so want to make an advert (for free even) to show them the dangers of fireworks. They even pick them up when they are still burning and not exploded yet. Luckily I didn't ...
And if you want some fun - take Ob-la-di ob-la-da
... the treatment. And I discovered they were pieces of fabric filled with 5 or more different herbs. They are heated up in oil and salt over small flame. After she gave me a fabulous firm full body massage, the fun started with the boluses. She patted my skin with the hot, not too hot, bolus which smelled more like spinach than soothing sensuous flowers I had hoped for. In the end, I felt glowing and re-energized.

All but Over
... annoys me, another person makes me smile. Just after stepping in a muddy, sewerage filled puddle, I end sitting down in a lovely cafe, being more relaxed than ever. It's everything extreme, in every extreme way, extremely.
There'll be one more blog from this trip and it will conclude my trip and return to the UK. Wow, what a trip it has been. And, when I get back, life will presume, almost entirely as if I never left!

Ashrams and Pyramids
... the bus station is on the opposite side of the river to the accommodation area and both connecting bridges are pedestrianised, which makes for hard work lugging your bags about through the sweaty manic crowds!
