Friday caught the train out to Como for a day trip.
Wandering around Como is really nice and can imagine it would be awesome in Summer, as well as being incredibly busy and crowded.
Caught the funiculare up to Brunate and walked up the ...

... but it was nice to be able to relax and have a quiet walk around the villages. I needed to take a lot of ferries as this is the quickest way to get between each town as they are all placed at different points around the lake. A very nice place that I would love to visit again in the Summertime.

Next stop is Venice, Italy!

... and drove like hell to the main church there. I thought maybe the dad drove like that cuz we were running a little late, but I found out the next day that that's just actually how he drives. Typical crazy Italian driver. Anyway, so Meghan and I were by far the youngest people there, and it was actually an organ/flute concert, but I liked when only the organ was playing. We came back home around 11 and I was so exhausted from the trek over Milan that I fell asleep ...

... quaint with beautiful villas. We walked the gardens of the Melza Villa. The canons in the photos are not toys....they are from the Napoleonic period...used to defeat Milan. The keys are to the city of Milan from the 1700's.

The food here is terrific. We travel back to Milan tomorrow to pick up our friends and head to the villa in Montanione. Forecast is for thunderstorms...yeah!

We transferred from the bus to a boat to do the tour of the Lake. They pointed out the particular houses of royalty and film stars - and how many millions their houses were worth. The views were spectacular, the houses really like castles, and they would have no trouble having privacy, that's for sure! Another wonderfully pleasant surprise! Some have their own cable-cars to get down to the water's edge. (Funicular)

San Salvatore is one of the mountains on Lake Lugano. You can ride to the top in a funnicular, or hike up the steep path. We went the lazy route and saved our energy for walking around on top. From the funnicular station you can walk up a bit further to a small chapel sitting on the peak of the mountain. The chapel has a rooftop terrace with a stunning 360 degree panorama view.

So we traveled to many cities in one day. We went on a train ride from Chur to St. Moritz. Love it. Switzerland is so beautiful. I still remembered that one second of the shot of the train with a backdrop of snow and lovely houses :D So what we saw were mountains, village ...

... have to drive around Switzerland (which is smack bang in the middle of Europe) or put their contents onto trains and meet them in bordering countries just because the Swiss don't want semi trailer trucks on their roads and highways, admirable but also totally ridiculous! Don't even get me started on the value of earning Swiss francs (CHF) over Euros, how expensive everything is and how they don't have Ryan air! But its true- the one thing the Swiss are is "one time" as my travel ...

... to pay my first ever speeding fine in twelve years of driving with an attitude of taking it on the chin (actually, it turned out to be the second – in the post soon after I got a far less serious fine from the day before. One of the new permanent speed cameras on the autoroute somewhere around Lausanne had snapped me for presumably not having slowed down fast enough in a 100km/h zone in an area where the speed limits change constantly between 120km/h and 100km/h), and I ...

... Brad Pitt, Versace and many other celebrities have their homes. Not that I was impressed by that or anything. Something I found ironic today was that both George Clooney and Brad Pitt have houses in Bellagio, the name of the Casino they robbed in Oceans 11. Maybe Im the only one that got that. Oh well, its my website. After that we went home and got ready for dinner at Lauras friends house. I have never eaten so much food in my life ...
