... to Slovakia, where snow covered the ground everywhere. Temperature started to reach negative around these areas as we see the ground fully capped with snow in all directions. The stop-by at Banská Bystrica is mainly for lunch and we only visited a small town square filled with Christmas markets. In the center of the town square there is a small soviet WWII Memorial, engraved with the names of the Soviets that lost their lives liberating Slovakia from Nazi Germany.

The weather is still not great today. It's funny how quickly the weather has turned, really makes you realise just how short the European summer is. Anyway, we drove only a short distance further into the mountains. The most adventurous thing I did today was take a walk to Lidl (my favourite supermarket) for this evenings dinner! The drive north was lovely though and still very quiet, which makes a nice change.

We drove through Slovakia on our 6 hour drive from Krakow to Budapest, Hungary. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous - beautiful green mountains with castles, colorful, small towns, and lots of small rivers.
