... which we will do when we get back to the City at the end of the tour.
The food options here are extremely varied with only a few Nepali dishes. You can get great Indian, Thai, Chinese and continental food in every restaurant although the food in the mountains is likely to be reasonably basic.
Tomorrow we depart for Pokhara and prepare for our Anapurna foothills trek... so it may e radio silence for a while.
... subcontinent that have been so tragically depleted by human population pressures. Royal Chitwan is world famous and relatively well-developed. Royal Bardia is the lesser known treasure beckoning to those who don't mind a longer excursion if it means they'll have a better chance of actually seeing a tiger.
Royal Chitwan had always been a hunting preserve, the special domain of the Nepali Rana rulers. A couple of times per ...

Kathmandu, Nepal blummo... to dance with me the whole night. This was a great time. It made me realize that I need human contact, close relationships with people, even if they only last a short time.
The next day, I and a few others were the first to leave. I have not been placed in Pokhara as I had wished, but in Kathmandhu instead. I was a little bit sour at first, but I told myself that I'm still going to help people no matter where I ...
Stop ...
Kathmandu, Nepal emeric.bensaci... kidding. It is all the crazy, chaotic, colourful madness that I imagined it to be and more!!! I spent the day wandering the streets, dodging tuk-tuks and mangy dogs, exploring backstreets with forgone temples and wild markets. The streets are alive with color and vitality. Witnessing the way so many people live has provoked much thought already, which I will share at a later entry, because for this entry I may have already said too much! Bored yet?? lol!
But I leave at 6 ...
... found a famaliar bit and knew where i was. I arrived back as the bike shop guy was literally walking away from the door, i had aboot 2 seconds to spare and could indeed get my credit card back that day....which was very important as i wanted to leave the city early the next morning. That put a huge smile on my face as i could feel the universe's humour and i just laughed. I was again happy...and exhausted. It was time for a much deserved beer.
... good pictures and just sit back and take it all in.
With the weather seemingly clear, only one decision remained. Do we trek back out the same way we arrived or do we attempt to cross the 18800 ft pass at Gondogoro La. On the way in this seemed a no-brainer. I was feeling well acclimatized and we'd lugged in crampons and an ice axes to assist us in the attempt. I'd never done this kind of "semi-mountaineering" but I ...
... bet) arise and depart. I heard the Israeli couple from Jerusalem also depart. Outside in the darkness the sound of dozens of hiking boots stumbling over rocks filtered through my ears. After a while silence returned but, as I lay in bed, far from returning to a state of deep and relaxing sleep, I stewed in my guilt. Here I was in the Himalayas with the chance to see probably one of the most spectacular sunrises of my life and I was too lazy to get out of bed. Michelle had already made it ...
