    Great deal

    from

We stayed in the Napoleon for a few nights because we got a good rate therough the internet and loved it. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff was extremely helpful. Location close to Termini.

    Fantastic

    from

The best place that I stayed in Italy. The rooms are large and clean, the breakfast was above par, and the staff was friendly. Good location.

    I would stay there again.

Thanks to the wonderful staff at the Hotel Napoleon

    from

Our family stayed for six nights in early November 2003. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Coloseum, Forum, and other antiquities. Given the size of Rome, it's impossible to be close to everything. The entrance to the metro is right outside the hotel door and trams and busses stop within a few blocks.

The rooms were comfortable with very good, firm beds and modern bathrooms. The continental breakfast was excellent. We did not have the opporunity to dine at the hotel restaurant but enjoyed complementary wine and hors d'orvres at a Friday night wine tasting.

Best of all was the service offered by the staff. As non-Italian speaking Americans, the advice and assistance offered by Mario and his concierge staff was really invaluable. The cleaning staff were polite and accomodating to our schedules.

Be sure to stop into Pizzaria YOK on the next corner for a great, quick meal.

    Great Value

    from

Wow. This hotel was a great value. I found an unbelievable rate on Expedia.com for this hotel, and I was very pleased with the accomodations. I have stayed in Rome on business and personal trips many times in hotels ranging from convents to the Westin Excelsior and for the value conscious travelor who likes high quality, this is a terrifc place to stay. The rooms were spacious as compared to other Rome hotels, the rooms were very clean, the bathroom had a nice sized bathtub. the staff was terrific and spoke good english, the breakfast buffet had lots of items to choose from, the metro stop is immediately in front of the hotel and they even have CNN. The only negative about the hotel is the view...there is none! I had a view of the fire escape, so I just kept my curtains closed when I was in my room (which wasn't too often). I will definately stay here again when I am on personal travel in Rome, you can't beat this deal!

    Enjoyable Time, Very Convenient

    from

We stayed in the Napoleon on our honeymoon in early September. The weather at the time was perfect and so were our few days in Rome.

Arrived at Termini station around 8 at night and got ripped off for price on short journey to hotel (didn't get caught again). First impressions of area where hotel is situated were not great, grafitti everywhere and shutters down on all the buildings but we found it perfectly safe. Our room was on the smallish side but adequate for the amount of time we spent in it. Continental breakfast, buffet style and plenty of it, a most enjoyable start every morning. During the day the area around the hotel is a hive of activity, plenty of good shops and little cafes. The hotel is pefrectly located, 15 - 20 minutes walk from so many of the major sights, The Coloseum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, The Forum etc. We walked to most sights but the metro stop is literally right outside the door of the hotel, very convenient and it only took 20 minutes to go to the Vatican (must visit ... could spend all day in the museums). Overall a very comfortable hotel, good food, close to plenty of resturaunts (we were there for 5 nights and had no difficulty in going somewhere different each night and still having others to visit), centrally located for all the sights and most enjoyable.

    Best Hotel in Rome!

    from

A girl friend and I just returned from an 8 day trip to Rome and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Napoleon! Since this was my first trip to Europe and my friend's ninth, we had different expectations concerning our accomodations. Both of us were more than pleased with the Napoleon and its staff. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were accosted by men trying to get us to stay at a different hotels because as they said, the Napoleon was in the 'bad' part of town. That could not be farther from the truth! We arrived to find a beautiful facade and an elegant interior across from a piazza. We were checked in efficiently and made to feel quite at home. Franco, the best concierge in Rome, went out of his way to guide us during our week there. He recommended excellent restaurants and always told us the easiest path to our destination. The Metro stop is indeed right outside the front door and makes navigating the city quite easy. As two single woman in Rome, we both felt safe walking around the hotel at night. There are indeed many sights that are within walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast room and the food itself was delicious, pleasantly displayed, and the staff was friendly and efficient. The room was more than adequate in size, always very clean, and comfortable. The air-conditioning worked exceptionally well as it was unseasonably hot during our stay. As one reviewer said, the staff at the Napoleon is very helpful and friendly. I can't imagine staying at a more accomodating hotel! I am looking forward to taking my family to Rome and once again staying at the Napoleon!

After getting caught in an afternoon thunderstorm, we decided to head for the Pantheon. We had a really full first day!
