We decided to take a Viator tour (run by Sunshine Tours, Tokyo CIty Tours, Hatobus company) to see Mount Fuji. We were supposed to visit two observation stations on the mountain, have lunch, do a lake cruise, take a cable car to get a view of the mountain and take the bullet train back to Tokyo.

The trip was a complete and total wash - pretty much literally. Heavy rain was forecast all day. After a 2 hour bus ride to get to the mountain, we found out that ...

I finally got a good nights sleep. I left a pile of garbage in the hotel room, because I had been packing all of it around. I repacked better too. I left the hotel at 8:45 am (five minutes early!). It never ceases to amaze me how helpful everyone is here, I can't imagine anyone doing that anywhere else? So I made it a few hours later to Fujiyoshida and decided to head to the nearby Kawaguchiko lake while the weather was reasonably clear, on arrival it seemed Kawaguchiko was the ...

Having paid extra for this hostel, because they had bikes we could borrow, we were keen to make full use of them. We woke up fairly early to make sure we could get a bike, it turned out there were plenty to choose from. However, they weren't very big - I wished I was a bit smaller. Suitably bike-ready, we set off on our journey to cycle around some of the 5 lakes of Mt Fuji. It was a beautiful clear day and the hottest so far, so we decided to ...
