... park) is nearly 4 kilometers long, and they have rangers, volunteers and biologists patroling the beach all night. When they see a turtle, they call in, and we walk out to go see it. In the meantime, we settled in under a pool-side shelter at the hotel in the national park and began our wait.

After a while, the chair started to get uncomfortable. I tried lots of different positions, putting my head down on the table (not nearly as comfortable as ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica kimandjohn... these waves, it was fun to watch. Jamie got pushed in and rested a bit on shore, I watched Brendan smartly go a bit outside and paddle in without getting crushed. He caught a little wave but the waves kept getting bigger and heavier, jamie and I tried to go back out but got crushed. Andreas and Liz paddled in and said we were going to go to Avellenas, Rafa of course just paddled out and couldnt catch a proper wave to get back in...so everyone went back to van and I watched ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica albert413... say when I am the responsible one and Voice of Reason, there is something wrong with the world, Brendan and Mike got a little tore up, it must have been the naps they took...they were funny and kept on saying 1 more beer or 10 more minutes, we planned on leaving at 1130 or 12, well we didn't leave until like 130ish. On the way back we saw these cows along side the road in this little grass patch, Mike said, "dude don't get too close, there ...
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica albert413Decide since I was on my own and my Spanish was pretty poor to head back to Tamarindo where it was mostly Gringos and still a lot of surf. Checked into a hostel called FT"s that was owned by a guy from San Diego and after a 8 hour gureling bus ride I crashed out.
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica jdarby... night. Christians, so that made for some interesting conversation. The one is cute, 25, tall, seems intelligent, loves traveling, did a 6 month engineering mission trip here before...he would be so perfect for some of my girlfriends!! Plan today is to walk 25 minutes to Playa Longosta, likely meet up with my connection here for lunch, surf lesson at 1 and then reggae night with my Danish friends. hugs from your slightly tanned and mosquito-bitten friend!!!
Tamarindo, Province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica adivine3... plan. We took them to the hot springs and then we all went out for pizza. In the evening we played games with the whole group plus our two German friends, Mark and Max. It was a good time. This morning I said goodbye to Erin again. Hopefully in another two years we will have another grand adventure. She is strongly considering volunteering at the school in the fall!!! I am promoting it like crazy around here!
La Fortuna, Costa Rica claudiacfavre... in Central America & I enjoyed it´s colonial architecture , happening travellers scene / nightlife , the Lake Nicaragua setting and the nearby attractions of Masaya & the Laguna de Apoya . Granada is clearly one of the places that seem to be making Nicaragua cool & popular - whilst naturally this brings the much needed tourist income , it also brings the paradox that ultimately the character of the place is changed ...
Penas Blancas, Costa Rica garygapyear... as we got close and the raccoon came down from the tree straight away and took off across the fields in a great hurry. Karina said that she had never seen a raccoon on the river before, and that this was not just strange but bizarre. We came back a lot faster than we had gone out, so as to be able to make it to the Nicaraguan border. This was obviously not a highlight for those of us who had just come from Nicaragua, and I would have preferred a nice slow trip ...
La Fortuna, Costa Rica mlc... runs up to me and says that her husbands drowning and points at the rip! I was thinking this is great, this is going to be fun, (he and another surfer saved another guy and who needed help and the surfer and the victim close to shore and was about half-way there) I get to him pretty quick and just kind of escorted him to waist deep water, thank God everyone was OK. Those waves were too crazy and we were getting tired just trying to stay in the right spot to catch waves, so ...
Playa Avellanas, Costa Rica buckets2100... passed through prior, including honduras. Not hard to see why though, with this idylic place, a haven for foreign investments, with real estates popping up on every street corner...in english!! But how did we get here....well, another 4 buses and 2 taxis later, we were back in nicaragua and overnighted in the city of granada. We worked the morning still in the clinic and finished on a high, removing an ingrown toenail on a little boy. arriving ...
