In the car:
Passing through Valencia on the way from Peñiscula to Alicante. We drove over a bridge through these alien-like buildings above different pools. We're coming back on the 11th to stay!

On the road again (Dec 11th):

... of the largest medieval fortresses in Spain. The castle was built by the Moors in the 9th/10th century and, at 166 meters in height, produces an amazing view of the city, coastline and harbor. The castle is full of cannons, dungeons, a moat, the ruins of a small church and, of course, a famous lookout tower. It really is a great place to visit and I definitely wish we would have had more then one day to enjoy Alicante. ...

We set off to walk the short distance into town and head right along the sea front to the elevator which takes you up to Santa Barbara Castle set high on a cliff above the town. By following the dolcit tones of a local, we discovered a hole in the wall tapas eatery that blew us away - Cerveceria Sento.
