... No luck there either, so we gave up on visiting Valencia and further south we drove.

Xabia

Around 4pm we arrived into Xabia which was a good choice as we all liked the place immediately. The town had 3 parts – a small port, the old town and the beach area. 6 weeks left here in benidorm before a flying visit back home to see everyone then im off to Thailand, Oz and Fiji for a few months travelling.

Currently loving the 'dorm, its probably the most random and bizzare place to rep and although its a bit quiet at the moment having amazing nights out with the rest of the fantastic team we have here, still time to come and see me!!!

We challenged our limits to cycle from Valencia to Alcoy in 1 day, about 130 km! We arrived late in the night after cycling the last 10 km over a busy national road in the dark (was not much fun), then cycled straight up in Alcoy for 2 km and walked the last km in wild nature with rocks, sand and even had to carry our bikes up ...

... 15 minutes to take pictures by the small river which had very little water in it and a lot of garbage. We got back on the bus and drove to Aleta to see an old church and that was locked soooo we went back to the ship and went to dinner but first I talked on the phone and managed to lose my glasses. Didn't realize it however until after dinner and then ...

... before reaching the top (cursed our flip-flops) and opted for an easier path that led to the furthest point out to sea. The views were fantastic, and Sophie managed to pet a seagull despite my warnings that it might have the swine flu.

But I don't think we have to be stuck with them. I'm just so glad I found such a good travel companion in Elizabeth!~!

So Alex had to go back to the consulate in the morning and being true friends me and Olly decided to join him. In the Brittish consulate you basically have about 15 people at any time who have had their passports robbed. During our short stay we spoke to a few fellow British people around us. Once we got everyone together (including a few more recruits bringing the total to 11) we headed toward the town centre to find some decent clubs. ... with the octupus it wasn't half bad. From there we follwed the groups down through the streets until we got to the town square, where it was all set up with long tables and chairs with your year written on it. This was the 'feeding of the 5000' so to speak, with one giant paella (see photos!). We couldn't belive it!
