Avenida Republica Argentina 1332 Foz de Iguacu, State of Parana, Brazil, 85852090, 45-521-5050
Day 23 - Didnīt do much last night, didnīt even have a drink. Did watch the tennis and great being in Argentina to see Del Potro win the US. Shame i was in Brazil, great timing as usual.
Noticed that very few people in the hotel speak any English, found it difficult to even ask for salt. My gesticulations made it look like i was making an inverted ī******`sign. Once again i went against the advice of the guidebooks and devoured a lot of salad, so thatīs four off the list - eating shri...

Foz de Iguacu, State of Parana, Brazil pamericas... activities to do in the surrounding National Park. We´d finished visiting the falls themselves by about midday and Fabio suggested I come for a visit to Itaipu Dam, a hydroelectric dam on the border betwen Brazil and Paraguay. Turns out the biggest falls in the world used to be just down the road on the Paraná river at Guaira Falls (Iguazu flows into the Paraná just past the falls, the Paraná then flows all the way to Buenos Aires) until they dammed it in the 80s. Shame about ...
Foz de Iguacu, State of Parana, Brazil ness010... amount of water thundering below. Wonderful stuff, and makes all other waterfalls I´ve seen look like a pitiful drizzle.

Apart from the falls themselves the other highlights is the abundance of wildlife everywhere. Great prehistoric looking birds flap their wings away towards the misty spray adding the the whole picture, and muticoloured butterflies dance all around also adding to the magic. We saw some sort of beaver lope across the path ahead of us and the common local ...

So finally at 7.30 the next morning Ozzy offered to take us all in his truck with all our backpacs and to slyly sneak fast the police station- luckily it was so early they were all still asleep!! Since then our journeys have been fairly smooth (*touch wood*). We spent a night in Sao Paulo, then Curutiba and we just arrived in Puerto Iguazu (6.30 this morning!), and we are bidding our time until our 21 hours to Cordoba!!!! Essshk!!!!!!
Ilha Grande, Trindade, Sao Paulo, Curutiba and Puerto Iguazu, State of Parana, Brazil gabbybaezThename ..Do Gostoso.. should be enough to intrigue you to visit this place...Gustoso in Portuguese means delicious.. normally used for describing food (and sometimes cheekily people) but here used to describe the place... Sao Miguel is indeed a deliciosuly tranquil place ... we fly from BA to Natal where we are met by our cheery Brazilian taxi driver for the long 100 km transfer to this small town only known to those making the effort to trek north from the hustle and ...

Foz de Iguacu, Brazil al_fey... of Brazilian guys at my pousada, one who spoke fluent english, so I hung out with them most of the time. I also went the one night with two brazilian women to the natural hotspings which was amazing. We got there just before the sun went down. The darker it got the brighter the stars and louder the jungle. We stayed for 3 hours and they lit some candles for us. There were bats too flying right over our heads. My last day was actually a bad day, I almost ...
Sao Jorge, Brazil jennifersLast night I drove up to the lookout point with my family to watch the sunset. I had to keep myself from laughing as we 4x4´d our way up in their brandnew little car, I think we dropped the engine a couple of times, eeps. Then we drove into Alto Paraiso for supper, which they wouldn´t let me pay for. Cool little outdoor restaurant with live music. I thought dad was going to kill us with his crazy driving but after a few beer I decided it wasn´t that bad of an idea to ...
Sao jorge, Brazil jennifersToday was one of those days when I thought to myself, ´life really doesn´t get any better than this`, as I was eating fresh goiaba while swimming under a waterfall (yes at the same time). Except of course if I had some family or friends here. But I´ve adopted a new family. I have two younger brothers, 18 and 19, and very sweet parents who seem very much in love. They´re from Brasilia and they´re staying at the same pousada. You have to visit the national ...
