... of the shuttle. At one time there were about 10,000 people in the small town which has a population of less than 2000. The citizens came together to search, feed and house all the volunteers. The museum has a case for each of the astronauts with personal items furnished to them by the families. There are also some items found during the search which NASA let them keep. It is a very nicely laid out museum and if you are ever in this area, take time out to visit.
Well, we left Nacogdoches this morning about 9:45 and pulled into the KOA in Rusk about 10:45. Boy, what a long drive!

Today we had to hang around since we were to get the windshield fixed today. So we waited and waited. They were supposed to be here around 9:30, but by 9:45 when they had not shown up, Bob called them. Apparently the guy we spoke with on Friday called in sick today and the guy who was supposed to do the work couldn't leave the office. They should have called, but didn't know what the annotation with our name on it meant. They at least gave us the name and number ...
Yesterday started with us going to breakfast with the Bakers. We went to a place in town which was recommended by the couple in the office here at the park. It wasn't bad, but could have been better. Actually some of the responsibility falls on the waitress. She was new and not very good. After breakfast, we drove around a bit then back at the park, they packed up and departed.
