    ... Quintana Roo. It has nothing to do with daylight saving or summertime hours, but a permanent shift so that holiday makers have an extra hour in the shops or at the beach.

    In other words, an extra hour of daylight in which to spend money.

    However because I left the Campeche region and drove over into Quintana Roo, I then lost an hour. So from arriving at 8.30pm, I now found myself having arrived just after 9.30pm.

    ... The country is sooo different to Guatemala or western Mexico as the people are mostly black Afro-Americans. Also the landscape is very rural and it looks not very populated.     ... signed up for a time share presentation. ****! The next morning, Abraham is at our hotel (7:30 am - what happened to being on vacation?). He took us to the Mayan Palace Resort in Playa del Carmen. It was supposed to be a 90 minute presentation, breakfast included.
