    ... Kurtis which are traditional Indian clothing for us to wear. So, it was easy to pick out the Deloitte team members as we were a bunch of Americans dressed in Indian-style clothes. We loaded into the SUV's and wove our way through the crazy traffic to the amazing Palace. As we drove up, we all were looking out the window and doing the "ooohhhh, aahhhhh" type sounds. It was quite impressive.

    ... and there that we’d go to purchase one later and hopefully be able to bring it back to Sanjay’s house before we leave. Sanjay continued to talk with Eric and eventually became his translator as Eric allowed the kids to play with his camera.     We were very pleased with our purchases. What a successful night. To top off this success we got a cab home for 150 rs! He pulled up to us asking for 300 rs as a base and we were not having any of that. Cheap rickshaw please! The cab driver asked us how much we get a rickshaw for back home and we told him 150 and he told us to hop in. That was a nice treat.

    Let the birthday countdown continue. Sarees in hand.. next mission.. the blouse.

    ... br> On Sunday, Anne took me to a hand-loom exhibit at Lamakaan, this inclusive cultural space near our apartment that presents the best of arts and such. The exhibit was pretty cool and had many beautiful fabrics, saris, and such. The place had a cute little cafe, so Anne and I decided to order some Chai teas and chat on the porch.     ... I came upon a small lake and noticed a great deal of smoke rising from one side. The path to the lake was decorated with chalk and rice powder designs known as Kolam. At the end of the walk way, the source of the smoke was finally revealed.
