... 8364;2700 upfront payment the hospital wanted, the hospital was very good to me, and I have been able to recover somewhat. I still have some pain, but the pain from the 3 holes sewn up in my stomach is actually worse than anything else now, so I take that as a good sign. Actually, the doctor had the nerve this morning to suggest that perhaps I have a low pain threshold, because I gave a yell when she deliberately poked me in the middle of one of the stitches, so that didn't help ...
Genk, Limburg, Belgium emmav... left Holland to avoid going to work in the mines and after experiencing the working conditions these coal miners were exposed to every day we can understand why.
On Sunday we relaxed for the day; Whitney went with Maud and Peter to ride the horse whileI stayed home with the boys and played ps3 and soccer on the trampoline. :) Renee and his wife Ricarda came over for a visit during the day and we met their son Tim. That evening we went to the ...
Boukoul, Limburg, Netherlands steveandwhitneyDuring our stay in Spa we had the most scary, horrible, unpleasant experience ever in a restaurant.

The restaurant to avoid is "Le Bouchon Gourmand", the owner does not hesitate to insult customers, lock them into the restaurant if there is a dispute on the bill, and claim more money than is due.

See more on www.bouchon-gourmand.blogspot.com
Spa, The Ardennes, Belgium un_belge... one for 50 Euro, so I was a little suspicious of this price. So I decided to go to the other mattress place...across town. Got on a couple different buses and eventually made it there. These mattresses were the same price, and big slabs of foam with a covering. I felt a little uncertain about spending 100 euro on a big foam slab, so when the lady was talking to some other customers I slipped out. Soooo back to the first store. The salesguy ...
Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jrsours... space isn't exactly the safest place to be. With the German national elections coming up, tensions are high.

At least the weather is nice here, though! We are having a little Indian summer, about 70 degrees and sunny outside. I better take advantage of this now, because I hear the winter can be really terrible: sunrise at 10am and sunset at 4pm.. we shall see how that goes.

Ok well Nil should be here any minute, more later!
Baesweiler, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jrsours... They told us we were at the highest point in Belgium, which was somewhere in the Nature Park.

We decided to call it a day for the roadbook, and make a detour to just get into Luxembourg for fuel, and to make sure we 'did' all the countries.

Looking back that detour cost us some time, but did mean we visited Luxembourg, even if it was too dark to see it.
Eupen, The Ardennes, Belgium dirtyweekenders... on.

We stopped at one point, because the roadbook wasn't very clear, at which point Gaz and Charlotte came up behind us. They had been left behind by the V8s, as they were in a Series vehicle, so we said we'd stick with them.
At this point, Kieran noticed a strange noise from our engine, which was duly investigated by James. It was diagnosed as the fan belt tensioning pulley. But we didn't do anything about it at the time.
Elsloo, Limburg, Netherlands dirtyweekenders... though it was supposed to be a joke, and this e-mail says that uni feels a lifetime away, things are different, what will it be like to see each other again. Now she says she wants to go and make a phone call. Wants to talk to someone, since apparantly this is not talking. Calling mum? I know she isn´t. I can see the words before they appear. "No. Calling Ajit." She says I love you, and I say it back, but it feels hollow and tears well up. Have knots in my stomach about Prague now.
Aachen, Germany dynamoOctober 2 Some goodbye and lunch goods and we were on the road... finally something good happen and he finish per driving us direct to Maastricht. So me and Liis were in Maastricht somewhat half a day earlier than expected and Sander (our host) wasn't there before the end of the day. We visited a part of town and relaxed at some different place. Later on we met another german backpacker and made some promotion of HC. At the end of the afternoon we met with Sander and could at ...
Maastricht, Netherlands maplefanta... to all that Dutch colonial imperialism in the then Dutch East Indies a few centuries ago, spotting Indonesian restuarants in the Netherlands was about as difficult as spotting druggies at a rave party. And if this particular restuarant is indicative of the others then finding a superb meal is no more difficult – even though the Dutch menu didn’t give us too many hints on exactly what we were choosing.
