I. Am. Tired.
But, I got all of my goals accomplished today, so I am also very happy!!
After my successful lesson at school I took the bus back to Aachen. I got off a couple stops short of home to stop by the electric company. It was surprisingly easy. I brought in the paper the guy gave me this morning when he looked at my apartment. The paper has the number of my electrical meter on it. I told the lady that I wanted to turn it ...
One of the teachers that I assist couldn't be here at all this week, and he asked me if I felt comfortable taking over his class for the week. I said I would, and this weekend he emailed me some information about what to do and discuss in class.
Our topic today was "If you had the power to change the world, what would you change?" The students are to write their own first chapter of a book entitled "Ecotopia." Today we ...
Hi all,
Had a pretty lazy Sunday. I know that tomorrow is going to be very busy so I just wanted to relax today. Had apple strudel ala mode for lunch, haha. Then we had a turkish dish for dinner. It was chicken wings and sliced potatoes on a pan lightly smothered in tomato sauce with lots of spices and garlic. It was pretty good! I just dont like the skin or fat on chicken, and I dont like ...
... They told us we were at the highest point in Belgium, which was somewhere in the Nature Park.
We decided to call it a day for the roadbook, and make a detour to just get into Luxembourg for fuel, and to make sure we 'did' all the countries.
Looking back that detour cost us some time, but did mean we visited Luxembourg, even if it was too dark to see it.
Once in Elsloo, we stopped to find postcards (having completely missed the observations again), only to find that the only card shop was closed that afternoon.
Up the road a bit, and Kieran was dropping a card into the door of a Landy enthusiast they had met on the recce. The guy turned up at that moment, and so we were invited in for a refreshing cold drink. The Landyprikkers overtook us at that point, and went on their way. We then ...
... time. That means that some people were eating while other people were done. It was weird, because they knew we were coming and we even had our food pre-ordered, so they knew what dishes to make. I guess it was because we were such a large group, about 80 people.
After lunch we took a walking tour of the city. They split our large group into three smaller groups to make it more managable. The city is ...
... a student asked her if I would be back, so that's really good. Feels like they like having me there.
Tomorrow we have a teacher outing to Stolberg, and I'm really excited about that. We will go out for lunch at 12:30 and then have a tour of the city after that. This will be a chance for me to meet other teachers.
OK well will write more tonight. Gotta go complete some professional duties, you know how it is. ;)
We 'trundled down past Maastricht towards Germany. The deviations were big ones but we still were able to make good time! The scenery was worth the deviations though. We past by some wonderful little towns and river gorges. Very nice bit of countryside. Will have to return there sometime, God willing!
... palm. Imagine that your left hand refuses to close further than to produce the vulcan sign, and your right little finger remains resolutely sticking out to the side, and no matter how you try, you cannot make them behave. Its really a very strange sensation. Itīs also messing with my typing and basically anything involving manual dexterity. I hope it goes away. As I was approaching Aachen, I noticed a sign for the īDreilandespunktī, where the borders of ...
Aachen, Germany dynamo... being sober or drunk or very drunk during the four days and nights. The earlier in the day the better they are! Hope you have a good time viewing them. Please feel free to send me a mail to comment on them and to rate the site if you wish. Many thanks to all in Valkensvaard or Striepersgat for the great time had by us Engels. Regards David
