... recommended walking path which might have ended close to the glacier, but the weather was so awful that after a 30-minute exhausting walk in endless drizzle we decided to get back to our car. And before we arrived we had been soaking wet and frozen hard apart from the fact that my mum was muttering all the way there and back.
Thanks god cars have heating systems nowadays :-)
... geocache which was placed right behind the upper stone fence.
As we were hanging around the church far too long we almost missed our ferry back. We were running downhill through the orchards crazily (even the lamest amongst us :-)), but the capitain took pity on us (he was observing the road through his binoculars so he must had seen us) and waited patiently. Everyone on board was amused by our rushing embarkation. Great easygoing Norwegians!
We arrived to Sogndal in late afternoon and started to look for a place to stay. The low season had already started so we found a beautiful place very easily at the Lems - very friendly couple who run private cabins. We rented a cabin with marvellous views over the fjord and mountains.
What a pity we could not use ...

Sogndal, Western Fjords, Norway yogaman... our yummy Indian food in the parking lot, crossed the barrier to get closer to the glacier, and swam in glacier water too! I didn't dive under like Astrid and Lise did but I went in the water to about my waist. It was freezing!
The beauty of this place, and all of Norway for that matter, is astounding. So is the cost of everything! It's so expensive, but so worth it. Anyway I have a ton of photos, see for yourself.
... Norway, (more than two thirds of the year it rains in the city), we lucked out with a beautiful day as we cruised along through the fjords. They started out lined with islands, holiday homes and trees, and looked very similar to the Gulf Islands in British Columbia, Canada, but as we got further out the hills rose to mountains on either side of us, most of them snow-capped, and the trees became huge, thick forests reaching down to the deep blue water of ...
Fjords, Norway dangabesisaak... one hotel, a museum and that is everything. Well you can imagine how we kept busy waiting 4 hours for our boat to bring us back to Bergen. We had our usual $50 lunch, then later on who knows how much on coffee and dessert. (There is this Daim torte that is to die for!!!!) The trip to the Songefjord is awesome and indescribable. It is the longest and deepest ...
