... top of the bell tower for some great views. Our favorite museum was the Science and Physics museum, which had cool exhibits on science from the 16th and 17th centuries when Prussia was at its height. Dresden was a key city in Prussia which included Eastern Germany and what's now W. Poland.

Today we toured the porcelain factory on Meissen. Harry looked while I bought :). Because of demand for Chinese porcelain this factory was built in the mid 1700's..the first outside of Asia. Of course,it was incredibly beautiful and breathtakingly priced, but the artistry can't be topped. Last night we stayed in a stellplatze about 4 feet from the rivers edge. ... some steep sections - luckily we were going down - as well as wider tracks weaving through trees starting to display autumn colours. I could understand why this was a popular area for bushwalking, and the Germans visit here frequently.
