    I need to mark Basel on the map & would also like to say to anyone reading this that might be planning a trip to the area, we stayed at The Passage hotel - it was EXCELLENT ! and I would highly recommend it; awesome shower, big rooms, comfy bed, mini fridge (if you can afford that sort of thing), a fantastic gym downstairs, and just a hop, skip, and jump away from anything and everything you could possibly want. ...

    Goodbye to our Blackforest accommodation, the Silberdistel. We drove from Hinterzarten to Hirschsprung to Freiburg. We parked in the suburbs of Freiburg and took the tram into the Alt Stadt.     We were broken up into 3 groups (we are the "green") group and boarded buses at 9 AM for a morning walking tour of Basel with a local guide, a young German girl named Yvonne. Everyone has been given "whisperers" which are the listening devices so you can hear the guide no matter where you are. This has been a marvelous addition to touring as you no longer had to attempt to be right next to the tour guide in order to hear him/her.
