We stayed in Zhangmu, the small village by the Tibet and Nepal border, the (Friday) night before we crossed China to Nepal. The altitude sickness just disappeared, as we descended; the change was immediate and suprising.

... roads were SO bumpy. They weren't really roads at all just dirt and rocks it seemed like. They also drive on the left side of the road here and a bit like the Chinese, honking and just barreling around corners and down small alleys. They are widening all of the streets here as well so you can see people just walking in the traffic since there are no sidewalks anymore. ... som vi gjorde alle aftner, hyggede, spillede kort, drak oeller, nogle roeg joints, (nej ikke mig). Dagen efter var vi rundt til forskellige rejsebuerau'er for at hoere priser hvis vi skulle leje en bil. Da vi var 6 personer skulle vi enten leje en Jeep eller en Van, vi valgte det billigeste og senere paa aften da vi snakkede sammen om det igen, blev der booket en van. ... ville have 30 dollars for en times rundtur, godt nok vidste han os bla. et aeldre hjem med over 240 aeldre som bla. kun fik et saet nyt toej 2 gange om aaret. men 30 dollars er mere end nogle af os tjener i timen derhjemme.
