      Day 138: Cali, Colombia

A travel blog entry by jsedwin on Nov 25, 2014

Truth is I don't remember much about this day. I remember a it worked for a while but didn't make too much money. I also met a guy on the bus who lived in Chicago for 25 years but returned to Colombia because he likes it better now that it is safe. I completely understand why. Karen cooked up an awesome dinner. Don't remember much ...

You can hire a private driver to take you up to the blockade and walk the rest of the way yourself, but it's ridiculously expensive to do so. Unfortunately the time that Sam and I spent in Southern Colombia fell neatly into the period of time that the roads were blocked. So we had to skip it.

Once we arrived in Cali I realised I had another problem developing, what I self diagnosed as a UTI after hearing about what they entailed from my friends and doing the classic use of google as a doctor because I didn't want to have to pay to see a real doctor. So I self diagnosed myself and them self medicated as most drugs are very readily available over the ...

... gave us a lift! The truck was full of food so we actually had to hang on to the back of the truck Indiana Jones style as we bumped down the road back to the Cable Car! It was really fun and nobody was harmed in the making of this story but you should have seen the faces of the bike people / rule police when we jumped off the back of a slowly moving truck hanging on by only one arm! In one day we had managed to break every rule and health & safety protocol they had! We ...
