... this point I was an easy target. Joe, a big dude, picked me up and threw me over his shoulder and then carried me 6 blocks back to the hostel. The problem with the feet isn't just that I jumped from 3 meters high. It looked like it would be about a 5 minute car ride, but was much longer than anticipated, so I hope we didn't offend our taxi driver when we scoffed at his initial price of 20,000 pasos/$10 to take us up there. We ended up with 25,000 pasos and a return down the hill to our hostel. My ...

After leaving the beautiful countryside of Salento I was in route to what is known as the Salsa capitol of the world Cali Colombia. I arrived at the Cali bus terminal around 3:00pm from which I took a taxi to the El Viajero hostel. The hostel had just recently opened in April and it was really nice. They had an open common area, a nice outdoor pool bar area, free salsa and yoga classes, and even a large free breakfast. The remainder of the afternoon I went to the central downtown ...
