Well we leave Salzburg today having been blessed with some of the biggest downfall of snow the town has seen in a long time. Locals said it was around 40cm and they usually only receive 10cm. The locals weren't as impressed as we were.

This time last year I was sitting on a bus recovering from a night bringing in 2014 in Paris with my Contiki family. I was full of excitement for the adventures up coming and optimism for the year that lay ahead.

This year I am in Salzburg, Austria with my family! Mum and I stayed awake to see in midnight and boy was it worth it. Fireworks are legal for the public to buy and use here, so all night people all around the area ...

... not me making my children laugh! At 10:30 we were rushing to pay our bill, organise a taxi and make it to 11pm Mass at St Peter's Basilica. Made it, but standing room only, and with no bulletin to try to follow the German soon became very hard to follow, and 2 children nearly asleep on their feet, but we managed to all stay awake and crept out at about 12:15 during final hymns to make another brisk 10 minute walk back to our hotel and bed. Our day had been ...

Today we went to Salzburg. It's on the border of Germany and Austria. Salzberg is where "the Sound of Music" was filmed. There are many castles, convents and monasteries. Salzburg is where Mozart was born. We got on a hop on and hop off bus which took us on a tour of “The Sound of Music”. We hopped off the bus by the mansion where they filmed the movie. We also saw the lake where Maria and children capsized ...
