Michaela here ... Brrrrrr.... We made it into historic Salzburg after only a 2 hour train trip from Munich. Immediately we were hit with a fresh blast of chilled air, still no snow, but it gave us an excuse to whip out the jumbo jackets. Welcome to Austria! ... Alps on the horizon. On our way down, we made a pit stop by the abbey which was so famous in the Sound of Music and I even recognized several points where scenes were shot.
We ended the day by grabbing some Weiner Schnitzel at a local restaurant and finding a small Adoration Chapel, praying for a few minutes, then going to another empty church and singing the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Yet another incredible day in ...

... we soaked up the sun and ate them. It was so nice not to wear a coat and to be able to sit on the grass, without it being wet. We went to a music performance in the residency. They played traditional instruments and songs. It was really good until the harpsichord broke so we didn't get to listen to the last piece. We met some more Australians and went out for dinner and then to an Irish pub with them, where we met even more Aussies! It was a fun ...

... thing which they displayed in his place is the letter that Mozart wrote to his family :learning how the old day he communicate to his beloved (must be tough) and the things that they revealed in the letter let us know the emotion struggle and the lifestyle of this prodigy. In one of the letter, Mozart told his sister how much time he used for composing everyday..and guess what, it was long hours ...

... very lucky to have our room as some, I understand, are quite small. We are on the top floor and can look up towards the castle, sorry Schloss, that overlooks the town.
We went for an explore, (still raining), and found the horse trough, church & graveyard from the Sound of Music, just up the street. Mick insists on humming "The hills are alive...." because I want to see the sites from the film. ...
