... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

Our trip to Milano got a late start--not our fault. The high speed train, Frecciarossa, was delayed over an hour due to some political rumblings/rallies in Bologna.

We made it just on time to our lunch visit with Vera, our very first teacher of Italian, ...

... Then I realize that these faces were just people, modeling for sculptors who were hired by the church. The essence of their souls transcend the stone from which they're sculpted.

Folded into the mix of tourists and fashionably dressed locals, are Entertainers strumming sad songs on guitars, people who levitate, ( or make you think they're levitating) and guys selling selfie sticks, or handfuls of corn to feed the pigeons for a photo op.

... train. This line is Freccabianca rather than Rossa- older less comfy trains but still pretty good. Top speed seemed lower- around 160kph. Only 2.5 hrs to Milan. Booked into Eurohotel again- like coming home. Great naturally friendly staff. Rain on arrival so got 8€ taxi to hotel instead of 3€ tram. Had worst food in Italy for lunch at a nice looking modern cafe and wandered Via Buenos Aries while Kim shopped. Wasted time at a fashion outlet nearby - granny ...
