... have made my way down to the laundromat with the ipad and a bottle of wine to sit and wait for the chores to be done. The walk down here this afternoon was a little interesting as I got to watch one of those street lurk men with the three brass bells they move across a board and the passers by need to guess which one has the ball under it. An early morning walk through the tight streets of Venice and you can see why everything here is so dear. Absolutely everything is carried in or out. Seeing so many dogs here & mostly small fluffy jobs - many with manly lookng Italian blokes - obviously ahead of my time ...

Recce done, we stopped for the quintessentially Italian custom ...

Day 249 4 hrs, 3.8 kms After doing nothing but provincial capitals, I'm determined to experience some small towns on my way to my last province yet to explore in Emilia Romagna: Ravenna. My first stop is Portomaggiore, which is a farm town, not a "Major Port". Once again, I enjoy the neighborly vibe in the plaza and along the pedestrian street with folks doing their morning shopping and old men on bicycles ...
