After a less than pleasant night, John had a late breakfast and we checked out. Apart from the food episode it was a great place to stay and we would recommend the Grand Imperiale Hotel as a good place to base yourself to see Lake Como (but don't eat at Cafe Bellini - a couple of doors down!) He pointed out important places like Versace's villa, George's villa, Ric************'s villa and lots of others. It rained most of the time but wasn't cold. The low lying cloud was quite picturesque though. We ...

Being the lapsed Catholic that I claim to be it's humbling to see these works of art and the depth of century's old devotion and faith.
