... up the village from the lake. To get anywhere in the village means using the village tracks - translation goat track (if you are lucky). These tracks I are rough - cobblestones or bare earth, and tend to be very steep with lots of steps. We decided to walk up to the piazza and other shops then go to see the castle. From the Tre. Rose it is a set of steps up. Not too bad. Then you reach one of the minor car roads of the village that lead up and ...

... a converted monastery called Villa Monastero, dating from at least 1208 when it was a developed as a cistercian convent. Following this, in the mid 1600's it was turned into a villa. Well, our week in Milano has come to an end! We had a great time. Toured a few sights. Had a great weekend. Enjoyed the F1 race at Monza. Our accommodation was very close to the Milano Centrale Stn so, we opted to pull our luggage to the station. Didn't see too many taxi's to flag down and probably would've taken longer to attract one then to just walk the few blocks. The Centale station is large but over the week, we've gotten to know it very well! Arriving here from the airport ...

... is approaching so off we go, the girls will wait at the car and the boys head to the cable car station again. A small queue waiting and then the operator arrives in his BMW and parks across two cars and lets us in. He sells us our tickets and than jams everyone into the cars - definitely sardine class on this trip. Just enough room to stand and no more. We were lucky enough to have a delightful English lady in our car who, before we ever moved, announced she felt sick. When we ...
