... were long & straight, but still felt like a session on the dodgems (that's the english name for a fairground ride with uncontrollable little electric cars that you are supposed not to bump into each other, but everybody does.)

Thedrive from Davos down to the Stelvio Pass was pretty good, and we stopped a few times to take it all in, and to let the engine cool down a bit, as it was working fairly hard.
We took a small road from Santa Maria, and that was really good, with some tight U bends, and magnificent views. This road took us across the Swiss/Italian border.
And then we joined the ...
St Moritz-Bad in Switzerland was amazing, hard to capture on picture/video but did our best! One of my favourite spots so far.
Travelled back to Czech via Germany and Austria. Oh and into Italy for a day at some stage. I then headed to Glasgow to catch up with friends and Jarrad stayed in Karlovy Vary to train for his powerman in Austria this weekend.
Anyway will let the pics do the talking!
Hope all is good with you all
:0)
I climbed a mountain in the Swiss Alps. I whitewater rafted on the Rhine river. It was all amazing. All I could keep saying was "I cant believe Im here. I cant believe Im doing this."
There was so much to do in the last 2 days, and Im physically exhausted. Maybe tonight I can finally sleep, because Ive been habving some trouble with that.
More later.
... hike where I forgot my camera. But fear not, for tomorrow, we ride to the top of the mountain on a ski lift, and Ill get great shots.Miss everyone already, and can't seem to get any sleep, even though I was up for pretty much 24 hours.Foods good, beer is better!! Such a romantic little town, missing Bruce a lot here.Ok, that's it. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow! Night!
Lenzerheide, Swiss Alps, Switzerland tbuquicchio... I could imagine it being a very lively place in the ski season. The day we chose to visit was ghastly! The rain causing a very low mist over the scenery. The cable-car wasn't doing much business that day either and our planned walk into red squirrel country up above the town didn't seem to beckon us! After a light refreshment in the nearest cafe we climbed aboard the same train we had arrived on and made the very slow descent back to Chur!
On our return from Poschiavo to Chur the train took the alternative route via St Moritz. A very short stop, enough to allow us to stretch our legs beside the picturesque Lake Engadine. This lake is famous for its winter Polo and Horse Racing. Quite a spectacle for winter visitors ...
St. Moritz, Graubünden, Switzerland ankorjuglor... shop and tourist facility seemed shut. Of course it may have been the Italian siesta time being near lunch!
From the Railway Staion one can see the gradient of the whole system clearly obvious when looking north, back towards the Albula Pass and Lake Blanco, so named because of its glacier run off water colour.
Wouldn't mind another holiday here!
... villages. I took pictures from the bus and am hoping that they come out so that we can share them with you. We simply will not be able to describe the views. Heaven on earth! We disembarked in Tiefencastel to catch the train to St. Moritz. Again, I just can’t say enough about the scenery. The train ride to St. Moritz is indescribable. I know I’ve used the term before, but again it’s true! Riding the train in the mountains, going higher and higher, the mountains ...
St. Moritz, Swiss Alps, Switzerland pemalak... felt rather fortunate (and comforted) to find it. The first thing that I noticed was that the altar is brought out into the congregation with the pews in the wings facing the altar. What a find! I can’t wait to get the pictures to show Father Spiess (hey, maybe we can write this off as a business trip, since we are doing research for the Heritage Campaign). This church was built in 1892 (pretty new by European standards) and renovated in 1978. On our way back down to ...
