... art. The two i kinda liked are a thing called "The painting" - some blue chaos. The painter was quite pretentious, judging by the title.
The second one is HUGE. Just a red color on the red background. Called "Untitled". Ha ha.
Maybe i´ll take a picture of it and post it here later (taking pics is forbidden, but hey,did it ever stop us).
See ya!
... for it now!
After breakfast we tried very hard to get on the road a little earlier for the long drive back to Reykjavik, that was after spending some time 'talking' to some Icelandic ponies on the farm where we were staying. At the beginning of the holiday we really wanted to take the children out riding, however, it has been far too cold for that, they would have been thoroughly miserable - will ...

... The steam from under the ground is used to heat water to heat Iceland and also to turn turbines that creates the electricity. A very "green" technology. A brief presentation and tour of the facility and we were off. At about this time or one hour into the 8.5 hour tour, I knew I was in trouble. Fortunately the diarrhea didn't hit until the next day, but I had absolutely no energy and couldn't wait ...
Reykjavík, Iceland nedk... A lot of TV is also in English and even children as young as 5 are speaking fluent english. Here are some facts about Iceland for you. Icelands summers are cool but their winters are milder than that of New York with the average temperature being around 0 degrees. The realtively warm climate compared to high latitude owes itself to the gulf stream that passes by there. Iceand was settled by Vikings from other Nordic countries back in around 900AD. The Vikings used to stop off at ...

I must digress as only two feet away from me a drunken Icelander just vomited all over the place. I am not joking. It is 5PM. Luckily nothing splashed on me. Please remind me later to discuss the drinking habits of the locals. By the way if anyone is interested in what the local diet of Icelandic drunks ...
Reykjavík, Reykjavík, Iceland jon.price... AM when we got here. But of course, everything works out...we met a delightful woman on the plane who had a hotel room all booked and she invited us to join her. The room also included breakfast and hot spring passes and she was fun to hang out with so we also spent the next day with her until our bus took us to the forest of Thorsmorck where we were to spend the next two weeks. Now for the bus ride out there ...
Reykjavík, Iceland rawhideone... standstill against a big rock that is lodged against the right front wheel. The truck driver runs over and asks if we are ok, which we both are, then we push the rock away, I reverse, and then the truck driver and Barbara push the car as I try and drive it up the embankment, the wheels scrabbling and slipping over the rocks. Miraculously, nothing has happened to the car either and we proceed cheerfully on. I have to give it to Barbara for being calm - she said that she thought we ...
Reykjavík, Iceland everardt... up into third gear. I was glad to reach the main road again. The next stop was a volcano just outside the famous area of Myvatn. Myvatn means 'midge lake'. It is a green and beautiful area, with mounds of moss, and spiky boulders of lava sticking up out of the lake. The volcano caught my imagination though. It is supposed to be dormant, but the steam rising from the vents (fumeroles) makes you wonder. From the top you can see just where the black lava flowed ...
