... Belize's national beer, Belkin. Our table overlooked the patio and pool area and the food was delicious. The staff was very attentive as well. We thought that because we are in the off season for tourism in Belize that we were one group of only a few staying in the entire hotel.

After such a long day of travel we happily fell into bed, excited about seeing the city and enjoying more of the beautiful weather tomorrow.

... the Belize Zoo. Only three of us went, which was great! The sanctuary has over 200 landowners who have pledged to protect the baboons (aka howler monkeys). When we got there, the little monkeys showed how happy they were to eat leaves from us. The animals were great, both at the sanctuary and the zoo. Saw a bit more sibling fun between baboons and even parrots--not just the kittens. Then we had lunch at a really good spot and I had cheap Belikin beer and burritos. ...
