    To the beach

Today is beach day, but before going to the beach we would visit a small town (old fisherman village) called Marzememi. first of all the trip that looked easy on the map turned out to be a long trip through forgotten streets in the middle of nowhere. Anyway ultimately we got where we needed to be. As such a nice village, but of this 'old fisherman village' little was left. It looked very touristic (nothing wrong with that) plenty of ...

    ... big quantity.

We stayed the evening at home with some home made (?) anti pasto's and wines etc . But what started on the terrace was quickly disturbed by a large number of wasps so we had to retract inside the house to finish our meal. Once the food was gone it was OK to be outside again and enjoy the lovely evening with beautiful views of the sea, the stars and the 'nothing’ around us.

But in the end too much churches is too much churches…

We went back to our home just outside of the city to drop our fruit and food for tomorrow morning and take a quick dive in the pool, ready to go back to the city for dinner. Of course outside, of course hot, of course nice food…

    Ragusa and further to Noto

A travel blog entry by johan.maes.1426 on Jul 26, 2015

... Our house this time is just outside of Noto, again in the middle of nowhere in between olive trees and almond trees. Must be a wonderful place during spring when the almond trees blossom.

We installed (have a full upper floor as there are no other guests), washed the dirty T-shirts as this is the only type of clothing you can wear in this heat and went to Noto to have dinner and a short nightly walk through the city.

... he wished to choose for the day.   Earlier in the day we had a gorgeous sunrise in Taormina, enjoyed our breakfast, packed and headed down the hill. Our first stop was about an hour and a half south from Taormina was Siracusa. We made for the island of Ortiga, part of Siracusa, but separated by a narrow channel and bridges. Now the books claim "it is the loveliest city in the world." So we were hunting for the parking garage...found and ...
