    Just as we remembered from 15 years ago, such pretty canals, bikes littering the streets, flea and flower markets, and so much character.

    ... the city. We roamed some streets mum and dad hadn't yet seen. Still haven't come across the red light district.. Not sure if that's a good thing or not! For dinner we went to a steak house. It seems that in Amsterdam all the restaurants seem to either be Italian or steakhouses. Just as well we like both! Dinner was delicious, and after a few beers we decided to head back to the hotel. Hopefully we'll have a peaceful night with no key card issues. Over and ...

    We took the room with a view of the harbour didn't realise it was the side next to the railway lines. Could faintly hear the trains so woke earlier than planned. Woke a bit after 7am had a nice breakfast. Finally bacon to have with my eggs a bit like leather though. Temperature a pleasant 19. Went on a canal boat and walked around Amsterdam. Looked at Ann Franks House but line of people to go in was too long to even see the end. Decided didnt want to stand for hours. About 11am time ...

    ... t put the two together. We watched it pull into the station and I just couldn't run. I tell dan this and he decides to run ahead to try and catch it. Then we watched it pull out. Disappointment. Then it turned around to go our direction. Excitement. Dan crossed the road to a small bus stop and flagged down the bus. The bus driver laughed and wagged his finger at Dan but pulled over. I ran to catch up and he let us on. And bam we were on our way to Germany! I <3 ...

    ... house which was sad and amazing at the same time. To think 8 of them lived in their and weren't allowed to make any noise during the day. Sad that they were caught out and all but the father died in the concentration camps. What's sadder is the way Anne died. She died one month earlier than the liberation from TB.
